An Airsoft Real Imitation Firearm is a replica weapon used within the sport of airsoft. They’re essentially a specialised low muzzle energy (generally less than 1.5 J, or 1.1 ft lb) air gun that is designed to fire plastic BBs. Airsoft RIFs have significantly less penetrative and stopping powers than conventional air guns. They’re safe for competitive sports and recreational use as long as they’re used within the safety guidelines therefore ensuring all the correct protective equipment (goggles/mask) are worn.

United Kingdom law requirements;

  • Minimum age to purchase an airsoft gun is 18 years.
  • An adult must supervise persons 11 to 17 years of age at all times.
  • No airsoft gun should ever be carried in public place unless in transit while within a secure gun case or bag.
  • Guns must never be concealed on your person.

October 2007: The Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 enabled you the legal right to purchase non two-tone airsoft RIFs (Realistic Imitation Firearm) provided you hold a valid form of defence under law which proves you are an active airsoft skirmisher/player at a registered airsoft site or hold a valid form of defence for purchasing a RIF under Section 37 of the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006.

Proof of a valid defence can be achieved using one of the following methods:

  • Your vaild UKARA number
  • Your vaild British Airsoft Club (BAC) number
  • Your valid defence under Section 37 of the VCRA – For example this would include purchasing for the use of historical re-enactment, television and realistic imitations for film. Please note: Expect delivery delay as checks may need to be made with the relevant body(s) before order dispatch.

To obtain a UKARA or BAC number you must prove you are an active airsoft skirmisher, You do this by regularly attending a skirmish site that has taken out 3rd party liability insurance, You must then attended three or more times within a period no less than 56 days (2 months≈).

Yes, If you are unable to provide us with a valid form of defense for exemption from the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 which gives you the right to purchase Airsoft RIFs we provide a two-toning service that is available on all Airsoft RIFs in which we spray 50% of the weapon to make it more “unrealistic”.

We classify this service as an after purchase weapon customization and therefore this item is unable to be returned for a full refund. All weapons a hand inspected before going through our two-toning service to make sure all parts of the weapon are in full working order. This weapon still falls under our standard 30 day weapon warranty terms.
